Ferbessa is a fixed combination. Ferbessa is a combination of two active ingredients, perindopril and amlodipine. Perindopril is an ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor. Amlodipine is a calcium antagonist (which belongs to a class of medicines called dihydropyridines).

Together they work to widen and relax the blood veesels, which results in a reduction of blood pressure. Blood can flow through the body more easily and the heart does not need to work so hard.

    Indications

Ferbessa is prescribed for treatment of:

    • high blood pressure (hypertension) and/or treatment of stable coronary artery disease (a condition where the blood supply to the heart is reduced or blocked).

    Subject to medical prescription.

  • Description

Metlinka contains two different medicines called sitagliptin and metformin:

    • sitagliptin belongs to a class of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors (dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors)
    • metformin belongs to a class of medicines called biguanides.

They work together to control blood sugar levels in adult patients with a form of diabetes called ‘type 2 diabetes mellitus’. This medicine helps to increase the levels of insulin produced after a meal and lowers the amount of sugar made by your body.

Along with diet and exercise, this medicine helps lower your blood sugar. This medicine can be used alone or with certain other medicines for diabetes (insulin, sulphonylureas, or glitazones).

    Indications

For adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:

Metlinka is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients inadequately controlled on their maximal tolerated dose of metformin alone or those already being treated with the combination of sitagliptin and metformin.

    Subject to medical prescription.

    Concentration and pharmaceutical form: 50 mg/850 mg, 50 mg/1000mg film-coated tablets.

  • Description

RosstAacy contains two active substances – rosuvastatin and acetylsalicylic acid.

    Indications

Rosuvastatin belongs to a group of substances called statins, which are lipid (fat) regulating medicines that are used to lower lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Cholesterol is a fatty substance (lipid) that can cause the narrowing of blood vessels in the heart causing coronary heart disease. If there is another risk of heart attack, rosuvastatin can also be used to reduce such risk even if cholesterol levels are normal. A standard cholesterol-lowering diet should be followed during treatment.

Acetylsalicylic acid in low doses belongs to a group of medicines called anti-platelet agents. Platelets are tiny cells in the blood that cause the blood to clot and are involved in thrombosis. When a blood clot occurs in an artery it stops the blood flowing and cuts off the oxygen supply. When this happens in the heart it can cause a heart attack or angina.

RosstAacy is indicated in patients who are already taking rosuvastatin and acetylsalicylic acid at these doses. Instead of taking rosuvastatin and acetylsalicylic acid separately you will receive one capsule of RosstAacy which contains both ingredients in the same strength.

    Subject to medical prescription.

Concentration and pharmaceutical form: 5 mg/100 mg; 10 mg/100 mg; 20 mg/100 mg hard capsules
